Safety Training

Safety is our number one priority.  MRI Research using our 3T Prisma scanner has the potential for serious injury due to higher static fields, faster gradients, and stronger RF transmitters. It is important that all those entering the facility be aware of these hazard potentials.  All personnel, including investigators, employees, and students who work in the MR environment, must be trained and screened for personal safety prior to gaining access to the MRI Facility.

MRI Safety Training Program includes completing a metal screening form, viewing the Basic MRI Safety Training to Prevent Accidents and Injuries, and completing the Exam. All MRI personnel must participate in a hands on Safety Briefing to review emergency procedures. This briefing will be given upon your first visit to the MR Suite.
